Larabar & Cascadian Farm-mmmm

Friday, October 15th, 2010

CF New Founded In LogoTHANK YOU! THANK YOU! Larabar and Cascadian Farm for sending us a multitude of yummy snacks.

We’ve got Cascadian Farm cereal sample packs AND granola bars, and the most appetizing assortment of Larabar minis.

I have to admit, I did sample one (Just one!).  I mean how else am I going to tell you how delcious it is, right.  And it was right there calling my name, and the tiny angels on my shoulder gave me a plethora of reasons as to why I should try, just one.

This one in particular is one of the flavors I never knew Larabar makes–Peanut Butter & Jelly. Hey kids like that.  I have kids.  If I liked it, I could buy more for my kids, right….of course, right.

LBPBJ_large_largeAs I popped the little cookie morsel in my mouth, memories of childhood days making no-bake cookies with my sisters filled my thoughts.  The Peanut Butter and Jelly Larabar is an absolutely delicious, tantalizing mixture of their Cherry and Peanut Butter raw food bars.  Sooooo yummy!

This experience totally convinced me to make plans to visit our local grocery store and buy as many of the other new flavors as I can (I mean, come one, I couldn’t honestly tell you how delicious all the treats are if I didn’t do my research. :-) ).

I think today I will start with Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and Carrot Cake.  And maybe tomorrow Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Chocolate Chip Brownie, and then some Tropical Fruit Tart, and….:-P

Dear Eco Vendors,

It’s not too late, but time is a ticking away, and applications for the Hallogreen® are due by this coming Friday, the 15th of October.

The Hallogreen® is a fun, healthy, and eco-friendly alternative to traditional Halloween festivities.

It is part of a “national nonprofit, grassroots community initiative to create healthier and more Earth-friendly holidays, starting with Halloween” (greenhalloween.org). The Hallogreen® is organized by volunteers of Florida EcoNet and Green Halloween®, as a fundraiser for The Fair Share Urban Agriculture Project (wedigfairshare.org).

Our gratitude goes out to all of you who have been been an active part of creating a healthier future for our planet and children. The green movement is actively growing here in the Daytona area (as well as World Wide) and it is so inspiring to be part of such a tremendous initiative.

We would also like to send out a warm welcome to some of our newest approved vendors:

Harmonious Life and Health Institute specializes in wellness therapies for the mind and body and is the home of “The Sound Prescription” (Sound Script Therapy with RTOT). Melody Anglin is an accomplished and well respected harpist who will also be gracing us with one of her brilliant performances from 9 to 10am at the Hallogreen.

Creating Beauty (Martha Davis Designs) Native American themed handcrafted jewelry made from sustainable turquoise, magnacite, howlite, and more. She also sells stones, crystals and Goddess breastplates.

Star n Crossbones where customers can watch amazed by the dexterity of Crystal Calhoun as she knits her creations before their eyes. Star n Crossbones will be selling up-cycled creations, as well as handwoven handbags, totes, scarves, soap stacks, handspun yarn from natural fibers, and whatever else the artist chooses to create. :-)

Shroomer’s Pizza from Holly Hill, known for their slightly sweet and positively delicious organic wholewheat crusted pizza, gluten free pizza, and their fresh from the garden (we’re talking like just picked before it’s sliced and put on your pizza–fresh!) specials.

Aquarian Bath, and Delicate Adornment–two companies by Cory Trusty of Holly Hill. Cory is an accomplished herbalist who hand makes all-natural soaps, tooth powder, perfume, lip balm, shampoo bars, salves, neck wraps, and beautiful natural stone jewelry.

Ever Clean Energy, a premier online superstore for clean green living specializing in clean energy solutions and environmentally friendly products. Outfitting homes and businesses with the latest in solar and wind power technology.

And

Craftbugg’s Cottage from Ormond Beach, a crafter’s consignment and classroom outlet. (Craftbugg’s is a great place to offer your eco-crafty classes, and feature your up-cycled masterpieces.)

Wishing the Sugar Sprite passes you by, and the Green Witch visits you soon. :-D Final Front Bookmark
